Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern PA (BBBS SEPA) seeks an experienced development professional to provide strategic and operational leadership in the areas of major gifts, annual giving, corporate relations, planned giving, stewardship, prospect management and special events.  This is a senior management position reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer.  The Vice President will also work closely with members of the Board and will manage the Advancement, Golf and Bowl for Kids’ Sake Committees.
 
Responsibilities

 
  • Plans, organizes and executes all strategies for individuals and corporations in order to achieve annual fundraising goals and creates a major gifts culture
     
  • Facilitates the development, execution and monitoring of strategic development plans and enables staff to meet their revenue targets
     
  • Executes and evaluates special events including Golf Classic and Bowl for Kids’ Sake Campaign
     
  • Provides leadership and support around identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift donors
     
  • Develops a comprehensive annual giving and stewardship program
     
  • Prepares and interprets monthly fundraising reports including:  annual giving, fundraiser progress reports, year-to-date financial reports and cash projections
     
  • Prepares the CEO and Board members for donor visits
     
  • Cultivates and maintains community relationships and community outreach
     
  • Creates and implements a prospect management system
     
  • Recruits, motivates and supervises development staff
     
  • Actively participates in all Leadership Team (Executive Team) and strategy sessions with CEO and staff, lending expertise and guidance
     
  • Participate on staff and Board teams applicable to responsibilities and practices

    Qualifications

    Academic: Bachelor’s degree. Master’s preferred.

    Professional:
     

  • 7 to 10 years development experience with emphasis on major gift donors in a not for profit environment
     
  • Demonstrate proven major gift and donor cultivation and solicitation expertise

  • Possess outstanding presentation and communication (verbal & written) skills
     
  • Exhibit a passion for our life changing mission
     

  • Demonstrate organizational and management skills needed to lead the fund development function into the future
     
  • Possess the ability to motivate, train and develop others

    Salary Range
    Commensurate with experience
